The Gateway Village General Improvement District is a general improvement district organized pursuant to §§ 31-25-601 to -633, of the Colorado Revised Statutes. The GID is a separate political entity from the City and County of Denver. The purpose of the GID is to acquire, construct, install and maintain the following public improvements: street improvements, traffic and safety controls, drainage facilities, parks and recreation and police/fire improvements.

The GID is governed by the City and County of Denver City Council, sitting as the Board of Directors of the GID. Day-to-day activities of the GID are managed by the GID Advisory Board consisting of City and County of Denver representatives and three registered electors of the GID.  See the Board page for more information.
